The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation said Monday the semifinalists were chosen from a large pool of contenders originally announced on the preseason Watch List on July 17.
Through 10 games this season, Patton leads the Bulldogs with 1,086 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns on 83 catches, averaging 13.1 yards per catch and 108.6 yards per game.
The La Vergne, Tenn. native is currently sixth in the nation in receptions per game (8.30) and ninth in receiving yards per game (108.60). He is also fifth in scoring among receivers, with 11 touchdowns this season.
Others semifinalists are West Virginia’s Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey; Brandin Cooks of Oregon State; Coby Hamilton of Arkansas State; Austin Franklin of New Mexico State, Austin Hill of Arizona, Clemson’s Deandre Hopkins, Marqise Lee of Southern California and Terrance Williams of Baylor.
The finalists will be chosen Nov. 19, with the winner announced live on ESPN’s The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on Dec. 6.
