LAFAYETTE — Central Catholic outscored Lafayette High in both quarters for a 33-28 win at the first CASA High School Basketball Jamboree at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Earl K. Long Gym.
Central Catholic outscored Lafayette 12-10 in the first period and then 21-18 in the second.
Lafayette High is the defending Class 5A state champions.
Meo Knight led Central Catholic with a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds along with two steals, two blocks and one assist.
Randi Brown added 10 points, eight rebounds and two steals.
Other top Central Catholic contributors included Megan Landry, six rebounds, one assist and a steal; and Abbie Bergeron, a point, three assists and a rebound.
