St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests this morning:

Ashalya Hawkins, 28, of 923 Chitimacha Trail, was arrested Monday at 11:30 a.m. on a warrant charging her with failure to appear on a speeding charge. She was released on a summons.

Celeste Benoit Portier, 28, of Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested Monday at 2:15 p.m. on a warrant charging her with computer fraud, theft and unauthorized use of an access card. Portier is accused of theft from an Amelia business totally more than $93,000. No bond was set.

Marsha Giroir, 27, of 1134 River Road, Berwick, was arrested today at 1:28 a.m. on a warrant charging her with issuing worthless checks. She was released on a summons.

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Narcotics Division reported the arrest of Michael Dwayne Thompson Jr., 18, of 1026½ Fifth St., Morgan City, Monday at 3:19 p.m. on warrants charging him with possession of synthetic marijuana and abuse of toxic vapors. He was released on $3,000 bond.

Elliott Broussard, 49, of 171 Village Lane, Amelia, was arrested Monday at 3:52 p.m. on warrants charging him with third-offense possession of marijuana and stop sign violation. No bond was set.

Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the arrest of Robert Lee Taylor, 42, of Jolivette Street, Baldwin, Monday at 4:16 p.m. on warrants charging him with two counts of failure to appear on charges of open alcohol container and driving under suspension. He was held with no bond set.
