ULL professor

LAFAYETTE – Services for UL-Lafayette professor Dr. James Anderson will be Friday. He died Nov. 26 at age 71.

He was a professor of Old English and Medieval Studies.

Survivors include his wife Patricia, a son and two daughters.

Arrangements are by Martin & Castille.

Camellia expert

LAFAYETTE – Services for accomplished camellia gardener Mary Stewart Dennis will be Friday. She died Nov. 26 at age 99.

She was a noted camellia expert, accomplished at grafting and air layering the plants. A variety she developed is registered by the American Camellia Society.

Survivors include two sons.

Arrangements are by Fountain Memorial.

Motel operator

ALEXANDRIA – Services for long-time motel operator Rita Ransbottom will be Friday. She died Nov. 27 at age 94.

She and her husband Cecil operated Ransville Courts on South MacArthur Drive for almost 30 years.

Survivors include a son and two daughters.

Arrangements are by John Kramer & Son.
