The City of Franklin held its annual Christmas parade and lamp-lighting ceremony Thursday in downtown Franklin. Golf carts rolled down Main Street along with the Franklin Senior High School marching band, members of Franklin’s Girl Scout troop and a fire truck carrying Santa Claus. Following the parade, spectators gathered on the Courthouse square to listen to selections of Christmas music from local churches and the FSHS band. This year’s lamp lighters, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. members, finished off the evening by lighting the city’s decorations to officially kick off the Christmas season.
