CENTERVILLE _ The Hanson Memorial Lady Tigers and the Houma Christian Warriors emerged victorious in the 2012 Tournament of the Teche held here at the Centerville High School Gym.

The Hanson Lady Tigers posted victories over Lafayette Christian and Houma Christian to win the girls title. The HMS Lady Tigers defeated Lafayette Christian 43-15 on Friday. HMS captured the 2012 girls crown with a 54-35 victory over Houma Christian in the girls championship contest.

The Houma Christian Warriors edged the Centerville Bulldogs to notch the boys title.

Houma Christian improved to 2-0 on the season. Centerville drops to 9-2. Centerville will be at Midland on Tuesday. Houma Christian is at Madison Prep.

In the boys championship contest, Houma Christian claimed a 49-45 win over the Centerville Bulldogs.

Nate Frye tossed in a game-high 24 points to propel the Warriors.

Leading scorers for Centerville were: Jumanji Washington, 18; Jerome Williams, 11; Juwan Thomas, 5; Cameron Pogue, 4; Cole Candella, 2; Rodney Harris, 2; Quinton Nettles, 2.
