PATTERSON, La. — Judging for the Patterson Christmas Lighting Contest will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.

Homes will be judged in three categories — religious, simplicity, or festive. Residents are encouraged to carry out one theme.

Lights should be turned on by 6 p.m. Monday.

Winners will be notified by phone.

Patterson will be divided into three districts:

—District 1 is from the eastern city limits to the eastern side of Catherine Street.

—District 2 is from the western city limits to the western side of Catherine Street.

—District 3 is from Enterprise Boulevard to Lia Street on the south side of the tracks.

Mobile homes in the City of Patterson will be judged from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in all the above categories.

Residential and mobile home winners in each category will be paid $50 for first place and $25 for second place.

Residents who won first place last year and have not changed their decorations for this year are requested not to turn on their lights.

House numbers must be visible from the street to be eligible for prizes.

The Patterson Christmas Lighting Contest is an annual event sponsored by the City of Patterson and Patterson Garden Club.
