Miss Bessie Mae Crosby, 74, a resident and native of Jeanerette, died Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at 12:45 a.m., at Franklin Health Care Center following a short illness.

She is survived by one son, Micheal Crosby of Orange, Texas; one daughter, Debra A. Crosby of New Iberia; one brother, Walter Crosby of Jeanerette; one sister, Dorothy C. Crosby of Jeanerette; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Miss Crosby was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and seven brothers.

Visitations will be observed Wednesday, Dec. 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at St. Peter United Methodist Church in Jeanerette.

Burial rites will be read Wednesday, at 1 p.m., at that church, with the Rev. Junius Egby officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Peter United Methodist Church Cemetery in Jeanerette.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
