Brandon Fisher spoke to the Franklin City Council last week regarding the Bayou Bombers of Franklin, the first semi-pro football team in the city, Fisher said.

The team is open to players age 18 and out of high school. Team members must be drug-free, Fisher said.

Players will be responsible for their own helmets and shoulder pads. There will be five home games and five away games, Fisher said.

Registration will be $50, and Fisher says he hopes practice and games will be at Franklin Senior High School.

The league begins next summer. Fisher said funds earned from the league’s activities will be donated to the Franklin Senior High School Athletic Department.
