Donations for Morgan City High School’s volleyball Paint the Pit Pink fund were made by Wyandotte Elementary’s 4-H Club, top, and Berwick and Patterson Junior High schools earlier this semester. The money, through Miles Perret Cancer Services/Sally Astor Burdine Foundation in partnership with Oncologoics, will be used to help fight breast cancer in St. Mary Parish. Wyandotte Elementary raised $191 through a pink lemonade and cookie sale, while in the bottom photo, Berwick and Patterson Junior High schools also raised $771 through a jean day, among other ways. In the top photo, front row from left, Wyandotte fourth grade 4-H students Hannah Lacoste, Jordyn Nesbitt and Hailey Crappell show the money the 4-H Club raised. On the back row are, from left, Morgan City senior volleyball players Elizabeth Esteban, Genesis Esteban, Ariel Trimm and Katelyn Adams. In the bottom photo, Berwick Junior High School students Brittany Roberie, second from left, and Jaci Arnold, fifth from left, as well as Berwick Junior High School volleyball coach Rachel Auenson and Patterson Junior High School volleyball coach Bianca Bennett, present a check to the Morgan City volleyball team at one of Morgan City’s matches this season.
