A Franklin man died Thursday after being hit by a Union Pacific train at the Willow Street railroad crossing near Anderson Street, according to Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire. Christopher Nedd, 42, of 905 Willow St., was pronounced dead at the scene by personnel from the St. Mary Coroner’s Office following the 10:26 a.m. incident. McGuire said that according to witnesses, Nedd had lain on the tracks in front of the train.
