Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack reports that at about 9 p.m. Sunday sheriff’s dispatchers received a 911 call concerning a home invasion on Freetown Lane in Belle Rose.

The 22-year-old male victim reported that earlier that evening he returned home and was attacked by two masked men armed with firearms who were hiding inside of his residence. A struggle ensued and the victim was stabbed in his upper arm. The suspects then bound the victim and demanded money. The victim surrendered about $400 in cash, however, the suspects proceeded to ransack the residence. The victim’s cell phone, several pairs of shoes and various items of clothing was also taken.

After freeing himself, the victim went to a nearby family member’s house and called the sheriff’s office. A family member transported him to Prevost Hospital where he was treated and released.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to contact the Criminal Investigation Division at 985-526-1627 or 985-369-2912.
