St. Mary Parish schools will remain closed through Thursday.

Superintendent Donald Aguillard said Roger Erikson, National Weather Service warning coordination meteorologist, recommended schools remain closed as a band of showers is predicted to impact St. Mary Parish early Thursday morning producing three to five inches of rain.

Twelve-month Central Office Complex, Office of Special Services and Material and Operations Center employees are asked to report to work Thursday.

The School Board meeting, scheduled at 5 p.m. Thursday, remains scheduled.

Schools should open normally Friday morning.

The makeup days available are May 30 and 31.
