A tractor-trailer dump truck working on the Victor II Boulevard construction flipped over on its side Tuesday afternoon and it took more than five and a half hours to get the truck back on its wheels, according to Morgan City police.

Morgan City Police received a call at 3:37 p.m. Tuesday saying the truck had flipped over on Victor II Boulevard, said Capt. Mike Marino of the Morgan City Police Department. The driver of the truck got out of the truck uninjured, Marino said. No one was injured during the incident.

There was a small fuel leak from one of the tanks, which was cleaned up and tested for contamination by a contractor, Marino said.

The Morgan City Fire Department also responded to the incident, said Fire Chief Morris Price.

The wrecker got the truck back on its wheels and the scene was cleared by 9:15 p.m., Marino said.

Traffic flow was not greatly affected because the area is not heavily traveled, he said.
