Morgan City police are looking for a white male who committed an armed robbery around 6:30 p.m. Monday.

A man, described as being around 5 feet 7 inches tall and wearing a blue hoodie with blue jeans, approached a car parked in the Quick General Food Store parking lot on Sixth Street and demanded money. He was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun, according to Assistant Chief Glenn Blanco.

The two females, one male and two small children in the vehicle were unharmed as no shots were fired. The robber escaped with about $60, Blanco said.

The female driver followed the robber, who was on foot, down Sixth Street toward Leona Street, where she lost sight of him, Blanco said.

Anyone with information about the robbery or who may have seen the man on foot in the Sixth Street area is asked to call the Morgan City Police Department at 985-380-4605. All callers may remain anonymous.
