Franklin Lady Hornets fall to Patterson Lady Jills

PATTERSON _ Alex Benjamin scored a game-high 18 points, leading the Patterson Lady Jills to a 56-34 District 9-3A win over the Franklin Senior High School Lady Hornets here Tuesday at the Patterson High School Gymnasium.

Franklin’s Lady Hornets opened strong with a 12-9 first quarter run before the Patterson Lady Jills rallied for a 22-12 halftime advantage. At the end the third period, the Lady Jills grabbed a 39-27 lead before coasting to the 56-34 win.

Benjamin led all scorers with her 18 points on eight field goals and 2 of 4 free throws.

Fabian Small led Franklin in scoring with 11 points on three floor baskets along with 3 of 4 freebies.

Rounding out the scoring for the Lady Hornets were: Quanta Jones, 8; Sadie Payne, 8; Faith Lyons, 4 and Wyneshia Jenkins, 3.

Franklin will travel to face the Berwick Lady Panthers on Friday in District 9-3A action.
