Renovation to St. Mary Mausoleum in the Franklin Cemetery is upcoming after Mayor Raymond Harris Jr. signed an agreement with Architectural Concrete Products Inc. in November. The project is expected to start in late January or early February. St. Mary Mausoleum was built in 1963 and has not been repaired since its construction, city officials say. The renovation will cost the city $29,700 and is the third mausoleum renovation project since 2009. Perpetual Park Mausoleum and Garden Mausoleum 3 were given face lifts in 2009 at a combined cost of $45,000. Mausoleum 4 will also be expanded to add 204 crypts and 50 niches for cremains. Acme Mausoleum Co. will conduct a campaign to pre-sell crypts in the near future.
