MORGAN CITY — Vandebilt Catholic defeated Morgan City, 7-0, in district soccer action Wednesday at Tigers Stadium.

Vandebilt (21-2, 5-0 in district), Division 2’s top-ranked squad in the latest Louisiana High School Soccer Coaches Association’s poll, took a 6-0 lead into halftime and scored another goal in the second half.

The loss was Morgan City’s first district defeat of the year.

The Lady Tigers (12-8-2 overall, 2-1 in district) are receiving votes in the latest prep poll.

Both the Morgan City boys’ and girls’ squads will return to action Friday when they travel to Bourg to take on Ellender in district play.

Boys are set for a 5 p.m. start with girls to follow at 6:45 p.m.
