A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Lucille Boudreaux Pellerin, 94, at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin, with Fr. Thomas Vu officiating. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Verdunville.

A native and resident of Verdunville, Mrs. Pellerin, born on January 18, 1919, passed away at 3:05 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Consolata Nursing Home in New Iberia.

After many years of service, Mrs. Pellerin retired from the Head Start Program. In 2003, she was presented with the Martin Luther King Jr. Service Award by Bishop Michael Jarrel.

She is survived by her five sons, Dennis Fleming Sr. and wife, Gertrude; Althamus Pellerin Jr. and wife, Gladys; Cosmas Pellerin and wife, Sandra, all of Verdunville, Arnold Pellerin and wife, Fannie, of New Iberia; and Terry Pellerin Sr. and wife, Lelia, of Lafayette; two daughters, Faye P. Broussard and husband, Lawrence, of New Iberia, and Nancy P. Autin and husband, Joseph, of Lafayette; 17 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Althamus Pellerin Sr.; three sons, Marvin, Frederick and Jack Pellerin; one daughter, Margaret Fleming; eight grandchildren; and one brother, Claude Boudreaux.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Ibert’s Mortuary from 12:30 p.m. until time of service, with the rosary being prayed at 1:30 p.m.

The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Heart of Hospice and Consolata Home for the care and compassion given to Mrs. Lucille.
