The Hanson Memorial Lady Tigers rolled past the Ascension Episcopal Lady Gators 45-24 in District 8-A here Friday at the Billy Gene Talbot Gymnasium.

Hanson moved to 1-1 in district action with the victory over the AEHS Lady Gators.

Hanson seized control from the outset, building a 13-7 advantage in the initial period. HMS held a commanding 27-10 lead at the half. The Lady Tigers benefited from a 12-5 third quarter run for a 39-15 cushion en route to the one-sided 45-24 triumph.

Macie Guillotte and Emily Sonnier led a balanced HMS attack with 11 and 10 points respectively. Guillotte fired in one trey, three deuces and 2 of 5 free throws for her 11 points while Emily Sonnier canned five field goals.

Other top scorers for the HMS Lady Tigers included: Katie Sonnier, 7; Kim Sonner, 6; Destiny Landry, 4; Haley Bollinger, 4; Brittney Broussard, 2, and Alyssa Young, 1.

Hanson (13-9, 1-1) will play host to Central Catholic of Morgan City in District 8-A action.
