Former postmaster

DUSON – Services for retired postmaster Nelson Falcon will be Tuesday. He died Jan. 20 at age 84.

He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was postmaster of Duson for eight years and then was postmaster of Rayne from 1971 until retirement.

Survivors include his wife Mildred and two daughters.

Arrangements are by Duhon.

Police juror, port commissioner

PORT ALLEN – Services for long-time police juror and port commissioner Lionel Blaize, Jr. will be Wednesday. He died Jan. 20 at age 95.

He was a World War II veteran of the invasions of Saipan, Tinian, Leyte, Luzon and Okinawa. He was a member of the Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission for almost 30 years and was a West Baton Rouge police juror for 28 years. He was a former vice president of the Louisiana Police Jury Association and a charter member of the board of First National Bank of Port Allen was on the parish Library Board and helped organized the parish Tourist Commission.

Survivors include his wife Jeanette, a son and five daughters.

Retired LC professor

PINEVILLE – Services for long-time Louisiana College professor Dr. Maurice Davis will be Thursday. He died Jan. 13 at age 91.

He was a US Army veteran of World War II He was a teacher and administrator in elementary and secondary schools before joining LC. During 25 years there, he was a professor as well as director of student teaching and supervisor of secondary education students.

Survivors include two sons and a step-daughter.

Arrangements are by Hixson Bros., Pineville.

Former East Tenn. State prof

SHREVEPORT – Services for former college professor and administrator Todd Tillman will be Thursday. He died January 19 at age 96.

He was on the faculty of East Tennessee State University where is was also director of the College of Business and Marketing and also served as acting dean of the College of Business and assistant to the chancellor. He was a partner in Tillman Auto Parts.

Survivors include a son and two daughters.

Arrangements are by Osborn.
