Universities' band director, Israel music educator

SHREVEPORT – Services for former director of bands at Louisiana Tech, Vanderbilt and Iowa State Universities Jimmie Reynolds will be Saturday. He died Jan. 19 at age 87.

In addition to serving at the three universities, he was Director of Youth Music for the Municipality of Jerusalem, resident conductor of the Israel National Young Band and music educator instructor at Tel Aviv University for five years. He later served as band and orchestra director at Byrd High and was coordinator of bands for Caddo Parish schools.

Survivors include five children.

Water company exec

BATON ROUGE – Services for retired water company executive Douyle Suarez, Jr. will be Thursday. He died Jan. 27 at age 89.

He was a US Air Force veteran of World War II (B-17 crewman). He was a long-time employee of Baton Rouge Water Co., retiring as its president.

Survivors include his wife Nancy; a son and three daughters.

Arrangements are by Rabenhorst.

Pinecrest administrator

WOODWORTH – Services for long-time Pinecrest Developmental Center administrator Linda Townley Pearson will be Thursday. She died Jan. 27 at age 65.

She was administrator at the state institution for 34 years. She was a member of the board of Louisiana Special Olympics.

Survivors include her husband Tommy.

Arrangements are by Hixson Bros.
