Morgan City Junior High School’s girls’ basketball team was this year’s parish champion after finishing its season with a 9-0 mark. The young squad features only five eighth graders. At the end of the season, the squad traveled to Lafayette to watch the University of Louisiana at Lafayette men and women play. The junior high team included, front row, Alisha Singleton, Johnay Coulon, Tajanae Hawkins, Courtney Welsh and Ketasha Williams. On the middle row are Hailey Lewis, Tawana Lebeau, Brione Long, Sh’Diamond Holly and Aliria Clark. On the back row are coach Allise Jennings, Tori Toups, India Bennett, Laquiajhia Bourgeois, Kelleigh Gaspard, Haley Harris and Allisa Jullien. Missing is assistant coach Jarel Jennings.
