Gus Bowie Jr., 81, a native of Calumet and resident of Baldwin, died at 11:20 p.m. Feb. 4, at Dauterive Hospital.

Visitation will be Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Baldwin from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Ezora Reed Bowie of Baldwin; two sons, Gus Bowie III of Jeanerette and Gregory Bowie of Baldwin; two daughters, Demis Romar of Baldwin and Donika Bowie of Jeanerette; an adopted daughter, Destiny Bowie of Baldwin; two brothers, Alton Lewis of Franklin and McKinley Bowie of Houston; three sisters, Drucella Bowie of Berwick and Jane Bowie and Geraldine Bowie, both of Franklin; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
