MORGAN CITY — Central Catholic closed its regular season with a 47-31 victory against Loreauville.
The Eagles outscored the Tigers in every quarter except the fourth in the non-district victory.
Central Catholic (20-4) led 8-4 after a period of play, 22-11 at the half, and 37-17 after three quarters.
In the fourth quarter, Loreauville outscored Central Catholic 14-10.
Tyler Hoffpauir and Lamar Grogan both reached double figures for Central Catholic with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Other top contributors included Nick Case with nine points (on three three-pointers); Josh Singleton with seven; Brent Green with six; and Dontrell Brown with three.
Raymond Bonnette led Loreauville with 22 points, while Rhasid Bonnette added three.
In Monday’s action, Central Catholic roared past Vermilion Catholic, 85-41, including an impressive 37-point fourth-quarter.
Central Catholic jumped out to an 18-7 first-quarter lead and extended its lead to 33-11 at the half.
Central Catholic took a 48-23 lead after three quarters before the huge fourth quarter.
Despite the high final score, Central Catholic placed just two players in double figures as nearly every player on the squad scored.
Hoffpauir led the squad with 21 points, while Brown added 13.
Other top contributors included Grogan, eight points; Cedric Gant and Case, six points each; Green and Samarick Paul, five points each; Luke Landry, Charlie Solar and Jalen Johnson, four each; and Singleton, three.
Central Catholic now will await its playoff seeding.
