Sheriff Mark Hebert said Sean Rainey, 20, of Berwick, the driver of a car, was traveling eastbound on U.S. 90 when he attempted to turn onto Delmar Road.
An occupant of Rainey’s vehicle was not injured.
Rainey’s car was struck by an oncoming SUV, driven by Barbara Ables, no age given, of Erath, at 10:48 p.m., Hebert said.
The SUV driver received moderate injuries and was treated and released at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City for treatment, the sheriff said.
No citations were issued.
