Rita Mae Richard, 73, a native of Arnaudville and a resident of Morgan City, passed away surrounded by her loving family Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Morgan City Health Care.
Rita was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family who loved her very much. She loved to have a good time and would tell jokes and have fun with her family and friends. Her favorite places to shop were Stage and Walmart.
Rita is survived by her husband, Clarence Richard of Morgan City; two sons, Mark Richard and wife, Crystal, of Bayou Vista and Dennis Richard and wife, Susan, of Morgan City; three daughters, Elaine R. Landry and husband, Carl, of Bayou Vista, Denise R. Lake and husband, Mike, of Pierre Part and Bonnie R. Gremillion and husband, Gary, of Bayou L’Ourse; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Allen Quebedeaux and wife, Carolyn, of Sunset and Thiel Quebedeaux and wife, Jessie Lee, of New Iberia; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francois and Luce Kidder Quebedeaux; one son, Perry Richard; two sisters, Ann Veillon and Laura Mae Courville; and one brother, Joel Quebedeaux.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Twin City Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. and resumes Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Leonville at 9 a.m. until Mass at noon. She will be laid to rest in the mausoleum of St. Leo’s Catholic Church Cemetery following the Mass.
