St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests this morning.

Shaneka Kemp, 27, of 458 Verdun Lane, Franklin, was arrested Wednesday at 10:29 a.m. on warrants charging her with failure to appear for drug court. She was held on $400,000 bond.

Timothy Darby, 35, of 1020 Hickory St., Morgan City, was arrested Wednesday at 10:29 a.m. on warrants charging him with failure to appear for drug court. He was held on $200,000 bond.

Clint Rogers, 55, of 10925 La. 87, Jeanerette, was arrested Wednesday at 12:25 p.m. on charges of theft by fraud and forgery.

Francis Casmire Jr., 55, of 705½ Carl C. Foulcard Drive, Franklin, was arrested Tuesday at 8:48 a.m. on a warrant charging him with simple burglary. No bond was set.

St. Mary sheriff’s narcotics division agents reported the arrests of several persons after reportedly witnessing a drug transaction Wednesday afternoon.

Arrested were:

Christopher Dupre, 19, of 1377 La. 662, Bayou L’Ourse, on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Grant Walker, 17, of 250 Murial St., Morgan City, on a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Miranda Brown, 20, of 428 Idaho St., Morgan City, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Alicia A. Gilmore, 18, of 428 Idaho St., Morgan City, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Derek Gaskins, 32, of 129 Friendship Alley, Amelia, was charged with two counts of distribution of marijuana.

Detectives reportedly observed a suspected drug transaction between three male subjects on Friendship Alley in Amelia. As two subjects began to leave the area in a vehicle, detectives conducted a traffic stop. The two subjects were identified as Dupre and Walker. Both were reportedly in possession of marijuana.

During the course of the investigation detectives gathered information indicating that Dupre and Walker purchased the marijuana from Gaskins. Detectives also received information about possible drug activity at 428 Idaho St. in Morgan City.

Walker was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set. Dupre was released on a summons to appear in court on May 21.

Detectives went to 428 Idaho Street and made contact with two subjects identified as Gilmer and Brown. They reportedly located several items of drug paraphernalia including a pipe, dugout, and rolling machine. Gilmer and Brown were each released on summons to appear in court on May 21.

Detectives continued the investigation at 129 Friendship Alley, where they located Gaskins. Gaskins was identified as the third male subject involved in the transaction on Friendship Alley. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

Jason Paul Crews, 28, of 821 Two Brothers St., Amelia, was arrested Wednesday at 4:50 p.m. on charges of obstructing a public passage and two counts of resisting an officer by force. He was released on a recognizance bond.

Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the arrest of Shawn Tyrone Jenkins, 36, of Carl C. Foulcard Drive, Franklin, Wednesday at 9:13 a.m. on charges of resisting an officer with force and possession of crack cocaine. He was held on $50,000 bond.

Samantha Renee Jones, 28, of Oneal Chube Drive, Franklin, was arrested Wednesday at 9:59 a.m. on a warrant charging her with failure to appear on a probation violation charge. No bond was set.

Kassondra D. Lightfoot, 32, of Baton Rouge, was arrested Wednesday at 4:02 p.m. on a charge of simple criminal damage to property. She was released on $1,000 bond.
