Melvin Batiste, 62, a native and a resident of Berwick, died Saturday, February 16, 2013, at 3:05 p.m., at his residence.
Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 23 at Jones Funeral Home in Morgan City, from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Berwick Cemetery.
He leaves to cherish his memories one daughter, Shamaka Garrett of Patterson; four brothers, Zack Batiste Jr. of Dallas, Texas and Matthew Batiste of Morgan City, Mark Batiste of St. Martinville and Carl Batiste of Jeanerette; two sisters, Lois Batiste and Diane Batiste, both of Patterson; three grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.
