PATTERSON — The Patterson Lumberjills continued their early season onslaught with a 15-3, five-inning victory against Loreauville Thursday.

Patterson scored nine runs in the first inning, including a grand slam by Arianna Ross.

The Lumberjills added three more runs each in the second and third innings.

Loreauville scored all of their runs in the third inning.

Ross finished the game 2-for-3 with a grand slam and four RBIs, while Carissa Fontenot finished 2-for-3 with four RBIs for Patterson.

Other top contributors for the Lumberjills included Rachel Easley, 2-for-3, two doubles and two RBIs; and Rebecca Taylor, 3-for-3 with an RBI.

“We got off to a fast start,” Patterson coach Colby Minton said. “Arianna Ross jump started our first inning. I thought we played well on defense, but there is still a lot that we have to improve on.”

Fontenot earned the complete-game victory as she surrendered three runs (two earned), walked two and struck out two in five innings of work.
