A 21-year-old man was arrested by St. Mary Parish narcotics division detectives on drug court warrants after he hopped a fence and ran through several yards while trying to get away from detectives.

Joshua Paul Francois, 21, of Greenwood Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 6:39 p.m. Wednesday for flight from an officer, criminal trespassing, disturbing the peace and on two warrants for failure to comply with drug court.

Narcotics division detectives located Francois at his residence on the warrants.

When detectives made contact with Francois and identified themselves, Francois fled on foot. He jumped over a fence and ran through the yards of several residences. Detectives apprehended Francois on Federal Avenue. He was taken to the parish jail and held. His bail is set at $201,750.
