HELEN HATTIE HARDING-SPENCER

Helen Hattie Harding-Spencer, 89, a native of Weeks Island, La. and a resident of Jeanerette, died Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Maison Teche Nursing Center, at 5:02 p.m.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 9 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 101 Main St. in Baldwin, from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Helen leaves to cherish her memories three sons, Earcel (Carolyn) Spencer of Jeanerette, Steward (Gwendolyn) Spencer Sr. of Baton Rouge and Terry (Beverly) Drexler of Verdunville; four daughters, Mrs. Stephen ( Carol) Bruner of Four Corners, Mrs. Morris (Hattie) Thompson of Jeanerette, Mrs. Gregory (Georgia) Carbins of Morgan City and Mrs. Todd (Laura) Watson Sr. of Baton Rouge; one brother, Herbert (Lorraine) Harding of Jeanerette; 24 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, a son, a daughter, a grandson, a granddaughter, two sisters and four brothers.
