Morgan City’s Austin Courtney continued his successful bowling season, scoring a perfect game in the Tigers’ 26-1 victory against rival Central Catholic Monday.
Courtney recorded the 300 in his final game of the match.
This is the second time he has recorded an honor score this season.
On Jan. 30, he bowled a 299 during the third game of a match, too.
Courtney recorded a 716 series Monday.
As a team, Morgan City also performed well as the squad bowled a 3,570, which as of Tuesday was the highest team record score this year throughout the state, besting St. Michael’s mark of 3,478.
Other top Morgan City bowlers included Taylor Brocato with a 702 series, including a game of 267; Chandler Delaune, a 675 high series (222, 229, 224); and Ryan Veillion bowled a 221 in his second of three games.
For Central Catholic, Matthew David and Kyle Autin each rolled a game apiece totaling 160, while Luis Bochas netted Central Catholic’s point in the third game.
In girls’ action, Central Catholic defeated Morgan City, 14.5 to 12.5.
Jada Pennison led Central Catholic with a 383 series, while Katrina Robertson and Alex Aucoin each recorded 379 series.
Ann Mary Dupois had a 362 series, including a game of 157, while Maya Bochas also bowled a game of 147.
For Morgan City, Lauren Aucoin recorded a 142 game, while Kristi Wright had a 338 series.
On Wednesday, Morgan City’s boys’ defeated H.L. Bourgeois, 18-9.
Ryan Veillion led the Tigers with a 633 series (222, 196, 215), while Lang Bui recorded a 236 game and a 628 series (236, 212, 180). Brocato was right behind with a 627 series (221, 205, 201).
In other boys’ action, Berwick defeated E.D. White, 24-3.
Devin Quick led the Panthers with a 631 series (197, 233, 201), while Carl Reed bowled a game of 201.
Also Wednesday, Central Catholic’s boys fell to South Terrebonne, 26-1.
Josh Abney bowled a 188 game for the Eagles, while Kyle Autin bowled a 183 game. John Carmody’s 157 in his second game netted Central Catholic’s point.
In girls’ action Wednesday, Central Catholic lost to South Terrebonne, 16-11.
Pennison bowled a 455 series (148, 140, 167), while Robertson added a game of 144.
Morgan City’s girls also fell to H.L. Bourgeois Wednesday by a score of 23.5 to 3.5.
Kristi Wright bowled a game of 139 to lead the Lady Tigers.
