Franklin notches two wins

BALDWIN _ The Franklin Hornets posted the first of two victories on Saturday by knocking off the West St. Mary Wolfpack 12-6 here at Wolfpack Field.

West St. Mary’s Jalon Charles and Elijah Duprie saw mound duty for the Wolfpack. Charles worked 2 2/3 frames, allowing five runs (3 earned) on six strikeouts and eight walks. Duprie hurled the final 4 1/3 innings, giving up four earned runs with four strikeouts and six walks.

Darien Dwyer led the Wolfpack in hitting, going 2 for 4 on the day.

FRANKLIN’S BERNARD MITCHELL recorded the mound victory with Allen Randle collecting the save.

Leading hitters for Franklin were: Damonte Mickles, Brandon McFarlane and Jarion Brown, two hits apiece; Davonte Joseph and Shon Johnson, one hit.

McFarlane blasted a home run in one of his plate appearances, earning the Impact Player of the Game honor.

FRANKLIN 10, CENTERVILLE 6

FRANKLIN _ Winning pitcher Allen Randle hurled the Franklin Hornets to a 10-6 victory over the Centerville Bulldogs Saturday evening at Hornet Field.

Randle notched the mound victory with Davonte Turner claiming the save.

Leading hitters for Franklin were: Damonte Mickles, 4 for 4; Jarion Brown, hit; Brandon McFarlane, 2 for 3; Bernard Mitchell, hit; Davonte Joseph, 3 for 4 and Shon Johnson, hit.

Damonte Mickles, who went 4 for 4 on the day, was the Impact Player of the Game.
