—Hien Nguyen, 47, of Dale Street in Morgan City, was arrested for second degree battery, battery of a police officer and resisting an officer.
A deputy patrolling the Amelia area responded to a complaint of a fight at the Amelia Belle Casino. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from casino personnel that Nguyen struck another patron in the face during an argument. The female victim was treated at Teche Regional Medical Center. During the investigation, Nguyen repeatedly kicked the deputy, the report stated. Nguyen was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.
A Morgan City man was arrested Sunday for resisting a police officer with force after a sheriff’s deputy responded to a single vehicle crash in Amelia.
Lester Ruiz Oseguera, 26, of Terrebonne Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:48 p.m. Sunday for operating a vehicle without lawful presence in the United States, resisting a police officer with force, and possession of schedule II drug. A deputy responded to a single vehicle crash on Duhon Boulevard near La. 182 in Amelia. During the investigation the deputy located a white powdery substance on the driver identified as Oseguera, the report stated. He was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.
A Morgan City man was arrested on multiple drug charges Friday by sheriff’s office narcotics division detectives.
—Erick Songe, 18, of Third Street in Morgan City, was arrested Friday at 5:14 p.m. on Shannon Street in Morgan City for possession of synthetic cannabinoids second offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of CDS law (drug free zone), abuse of toxic vapors, and obstruction of justice. St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division detectives patrolling the Morgan City area observed someone throw an object to the ground. Detectives made contact with the person who was identified as Songe and located the object.
Detectives then determined that the object Songe threw was a synthetic cannabinoid cigarette. During the investigation, detectives located synthetic cannabinoids and rolling papers on Songe, the report stated. He was taken to the parish jail and held.
