ERATH — Patterson High School’s boys’ track team placed third out of 13 teams at the Snooks Relay Friday.

The ’Jacks scored 86 points in their finish. Erath won the event with 150.5 points.

While Jonathan Jeffcoat recorded the squad’s lone first-place finish as he clocked in at 10:58 in the 3,200 meter, the squad had multiple second- and third-place finishes.

Second-place finishers included Matthew Tregle in the shot put (44’0”), Jeffcoat in the 1,600 meter run (4:58), Laron Todd in the 200-meter dash (22.8) and the squad’s 4x100 and 4x200 meter relays. The 4x100 meter relay, which consisted of Joe Duffie, Keshawn Smith, Kendall Hunter and Todd, clocked in with a time of 44.57, while the 4x200, which included Hunter, Smith, Larry Turner and Todd, finished with a time of 1:32.5.

Third place finishers included Luke Larive in the 400 meter, 56.7; Smith in the 200 meter dash, 23.8; and Shae Ragas in the 300 meter hurdles, 44.7.

Other Patterson participants included Ragas, fourth in the 110 meter hurdles (16.7) and Jedrick Gunner, fifth in the long jump (19’10”).

Both teams will return to action Friday when they participate in the Foster/Perry Relays in Franklin.

The meet will mark the second for the girls’, including the first time members of its girls’ basketball team will be participating in competition.

Girls track coach Mark Millet said he is eager to see their results Friday.

“The girls have been working hard the last two weeks,” he said.
