The St. Mary Parish School Board and its committees will hold three meetings Thursday at the Central Office Complex in Centerville.

The District III Maintenance Committee begins at 3:45 p.m. On the agenda is the receipt of bids on air conditioning at J.S. Aucoin Elementary in Amelia.

At 4 p.m. is a group health insurance plan informational workshop during which board consultant James Perez will discuss the Blue Cross/Blue Shield group health plan renewal. Also on the agenda is a discussion of the employer-shared responsibility requirement of Obamacare. He also will present a group benefits actuarial review and rate determination.

The regular meeting begins at 5 p.m. Among the issues to be discussed is again considering whether assistant principals can serve as assistant coaches at their home schools. While the issue had been brought by Bill McCarty the last three times it was on the agenda, it is being brought by Ed Payton this month. It was voted down in a split decision at the February meeting.

Property and workers compensation insurance recommendations will be considered as will the use of funds previously designated for technology upgrades.

All three meetings are open to the public.
