Layne M. Aucoin, of La. 662 in Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested Sunday on warrants for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of probation on the charges of simple criminal damage to property, trespassing, criminal damage to property and battery. A deputy observed a male subject walking on Southeast Boulevard in Bayou Vista and stopped to speak with him in regard to a complaint from that area. The subject was identified as Aucoin and it was learned that Aucoin was wanted on the warrants. He was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.
A 41-year-old Morgan City woman was arrested by sheriff’s narcotics detectives Friday for possession of three different drugs.
Nicole Marie Fisher, 41, of Belanger Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:21 p.m. Friday for possession of Schedule II drug (Vyvance), possession of Schedule III drug (Lortab), and possession of a legend drug (Tramadol). Narcotics detectives patrolling the Morgan City area conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for improper lane use and failure to signal prior to turning near the intersection of Victor II Boulevard and Marguerite Street. Detectives made contact with a passenger of the vehicle, identified as Nicole Fisher.
After receiving consent to search, detectives located Tramadol pills on her person and Vyvance and Lortab pills in her purse, the report stated. Fisher was taken to the parish jail. No bail is set.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
—Jody Cubbedge Sr., 55, of Third Street in Berwick, was arrested at 6:18 p.m. Saturday for theft of goods, remaining where forbidden and driving under suspension.
A deputy responding to a complaint of shoplifting at Walmart in Bayou Vista learned upon arrival from security personnel that a male subject was observed concealing items on his person. When store security approached the subject, he fled the store in a vehicle and store security was able to note the license plate number. Another deputy located and stopped the vehicle and that deputy learned that Cubbedge was driving with a suspended license. He was escorted back to Walmart and identified as the subject who stole the items, the report stated. Cubbedge had two previous counts of theft from a Walmart store in Texas. He was taken to the parish jail and held. His bail is set at $2,500.
—Christopher Adams Jr., 32, of Francis Street in Patterson, was arrested at 8:25 p.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft of goods. A deputy responding to a complaint of a reckless driver located a vehicle matching the complainant’s description that appeared to be pulling out the parking lot of a business on La. 182 in Bayou Vista. The deputy stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver who was identified as Adams. A warrants check revealed that Adams was wanted on a warrant from Terrebonne Parish. Adams was taken to the parish jail and held. He was released on a $300 bail.
—Platonov Dmitri, 32, of Kaliste Saloom Road in Lafayette, was arrested at 1:48 a.m. Sunday for theft of goods. A deputy conducted a follow up investigation into a shoplifting complaint from Walmart in Bayou Vista. Earlier in the investigation the deputy learned from store security that a male subject was observed opening packages of merchandise and putting items in his pocket. After security approached the subject, he left and drove away from the store. Security personnel were able to note the license plate number of the vehicle. Using that information the deputy identified the driver of the vehicle as Dmitri. Dmitri was contacted about the incident and went to the sheriff’s office in Morgan City to speak with the deputy, the report stated. Following the investigation, Dmitri was released on a summons to appear in court June 12.
Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrests:
—Brett Williams Bergeron, 24, of Franklin, was arrested at 9:32 p.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to pay a fine.
Police responded to Lake End Park in Morgan City regarding a subject camping on the property without authorization. The subject was located and identified as Bergeron. A warrants check revealed an outstanding warrant for failure to pay a fine with the City Court of Morgan City. The fine was levied for an original charge of possession of marijuana. Bergeron was taken to jail and held.
—Triche Riley, 40, of Stephensville, was arrested at 9:43 p.m. Friday on a warrant for two counts of cruelty to animals and one count negligent injuring.
Police responded to Rouses Supermarket after an off-duty police officer working security detained Riley, whom he was aware of an outstanding arrest warrant. Riley was taken to jail where she was booked on the pending warrants and released on bail. The warrants were a result of a police investigation of an incident in February. It was alleged that Riley abandoned two dogs in the neighborhood near the Morgan City High School. One of the dogs was reported to have bitten a resident of that neighborhood causing injury, the report stated.
—Frank M. Adams, 21, of Shrimpers Row in Houma, was arrested at 12:31 p.m. Sunday for simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.
The Morgan City Police Department responded to a complaint involving a residential burglary at a Utah Street residence. Upon arrival, the officers located a residence with a broken window and the front door ajar. During the investigation, Adams was identified as a suspect and was later located at a residence on Levee Road. Upon questioning, Adams made statements implicating him in the incident, the report stated. It was alleged that the he broke a window at the rear of the residence to gain entry into the residence. Adams was taken to the police department and held.
—John W. Ross, 44, of Fourth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:04 p.m. Sunday for simple battery domestic violence and misrepresentation during booking.
The Morgan City Police Department received a complaint from a female subject who advised that her boyfriend, John Ross, had committed a battery upon her during an argument. Ross was located and had physical evidence indicating involvement in some type of altercation, the report stated. Ross was taken to Teche Regional Medical Center to be evaluated and upon release was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked on domestic abuse battery. During booking procedures, Ross refused to comply with booking and was additionally charged with misrepresentation during booking. No bail is set.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrests:
—Farrel Leger, 55, of Williams Street in Patterson, was arrested at 9:06 p.m. Friday for driving under suspension and speeding. Leger was released on a $1,500 bail.
—Billy McFarland, 30, of Port Sulphur, was arrested at 7 p.m. Saturday for soliciting without a permit. McFarland was released on a $150 bail.
—Kristen Badgood, 33, of Marrero, was arrested at 7 p.m. Saturday for soliciting without a permit. Badgood posted a $150 bail and was released.
—Lavetta Orick, 24, of Slidell, was arrested at 7 p.m. Saturday for soliciting without a permit. Orick was released on a $150 bail.
—Gary Scully, 52, of Gainesville, Texas, was arrested at 3:07 p.m. Sunday for DWI fourth offense and no driver’s license. Scully is being held at the parish jail. No bail is set.
