The festivities begin on Saturday with a Pre- Cook-off Dance at the Northwest Community Center and Pavilion at 651 Samuel Dr., Eunice, featuring Geno Delafose and French Rockin’ Boogie from 9 p.m. to midnight. There is a $10 cover charge.
The Cook-off weekend continues on Sunday when from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. there will be free family entertainment. The music begins at 10 a.m. with the Inner City Blues Band playing a tribute to Roscoe Chenier. Next in the line-up is Jason Frey and Lagniappe and the Cook-off is topped off with Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys. There will be a poker run, arts and craft booths, fun jumps, a petting zoo and pony rides for the children, plenty of crawfish etouffee, boiled crawfish and a variety of other great foods.
There is a Cook-off Raffle featuring great Cajun prizes.
Cook-off teams will compete to see who can cook the best crawfish etouffee. Celebrity and professional judges will proclaim winners in three categories: amateur, professional and club/organization. Teams also vie for the best decorated booth. Winners will be announced from the music stage at 3 p.m.
