CENTERVILLE _ Peyton Landry struck out 10 batters, hurling the Centerville Bulldogs to a 12-2 victory over the Episcopal School of Acadiana Falcons here Tuesday at the CHS Baseball Field.

Landry claimed the mound victory after pitching six complete innings, surrendering two runs on only four hits with four walks and 10 strikeouts.

ESA built a 2-0 lead in the top half of the first inning before the Centerville Bulldogs retaliated with a 3-2 cushion after one complete inning. At the end of two frames, CHS held a 4-2 lead of which it extended to 7-2 with three insurance runs in the bottom half of the fourth frame. The Bulldogs struck for one run in the fifth inning and four more in the sixth inning to coast to the 12-2 victory.

Leading hitters for the Centerville Bulldogs were: Chance Landry, 3 for 4, double, 3 RBI; Cole Candella, 1 for 1, double, 2 RBI; Cameron Pogue, 1 for 3; Courtland Pogue, 1 for 4; Christian Arias, RBI, 3 runs and Logan Broussard, RBI.

Centerville will travel to play Highland Baptist on Thursday in its next outing.
