PATTERSON — The Patterson Lumberjills picked up their second District 9-3A victory of the season with a 16-1 win in three innings against Franklin High Tuesday.
Patterson’s Taylor Hall led the ’Jills’ on the mound and was one of the top hitters at the plate.
She earned the win as she tossed a one-hitter and struck out seven in three innings of work. She surrendered one run.
At the plate, she finished 1-for-1 with three RBIs and two runs.
Other top performers for the Lumberjills included Carissa Fontenot, 2-for-2, four RBIs and three runs; Tiera Butler, 2-for-2, three RBIs and two runs; Rachel Easley, 1-for-2, two RBIs and a run; Arianna Ross and Brittany Totten, each with an RBI and two runs; and Rebecca Taylor and Madi Morris, each with an RBI and one run.
Patterson (14-6 overall, 2-3 in District 9-3A) will return to action Thursday when it hosts Erath at 4 p.m. Varsity will begin at 4 p.m. and junior varsity will follow.
Berwick wins in
Berwick rolled to a 15-0 victory against Abbeville at home in three innings Tuesday.
No individual statistics were available.
The Lady Panthers (9-8 overall, 3-2 in District 9-3A) will return to action Thursday with a 4 p.m. contest against Franklin.

Central Catholic picked up two wins in the past two days, with a 3-2 win against Hanson Memorial in eight innings at home Tuesday, a day after defeating Houma Christian, 5-1, at Nicholls State University.
In Tuesday’s win, the Lady Eagles pushed across the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning.
While Hanson had taken a 1-0 lead in the second, Central Catholic responded with two runs in the bottom of the third.
Hanson tied the game at two in the top of the sixth.
Megan Landry earned the complete-game victory for the Lady Eagles as she struck out 12. She surrendered two runs — one earned — on eight hits with one walk.
At the plate, Landry finished 1-for-4 with a double.
Other top contributors for Central Catholic included Brittany Longman, 2-for-4, a double, an RBI and a run; Bridgette Swan, 2-for-4, an RBI; Olivia Crawford and Caroline Byrne, 2-for-3; and Amanda Barron, 1-for-4, an RBI.
In Monday’s win against Houma Christian, the Lady Eagles responded from a 1-0 deficit with three runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth for a 5-1 win in a contest played on Nicholls State University’s softball field.
Landry pitched a complete game and surrendered an unearned run on seven hits with two walks and eight strikeouts.
