MC police report eight arrests on drug-related charges

(Editor’s note: The charges listed here and the narratives that go with them are provided by the police agencies that made the arrests. Guilt or innocence has not been determined in court.)

Morgan City police reported eight arrests on drug possession or paraphernalia charges since Thursday.

Morgan City, St. Mary and Franklin authorities all made arrests on domestic battery charges, while Franklin police detained a 17-year-old on a weapon charge.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported these arrests:

--Dylan Joshua Houck, 25, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:04 a.m. Friday on charges of theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.

--De’arius Young, 25, Eighth Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:25 p.m. Friday on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. (Released on summons.)

--Jacob Gabriel Fernandez, 36, Second Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:36 p.m. Friday on charges of possession of alprazolam, improper lighting and failure to appear for trial (16th Judicial District Court).

--Angilee Williams, 60, Maine Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:56 p.m. Friday on charges of possession of cocaine, obstruction of justice, possession of drug paraphernalia, introduction of contraband into a penal institution, improper light and failure to appear for arraignment.

--Sydney Williams, 23, Driskell Drive, Morgan City, was arrested at 5:21 a.m. Saturday on a charge of possession of marijuana. (Released on summons.)

--Craig O’Neal Robinson, 36, First Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:50 am. Sunday on charges of possession of marijuana, introduction of contraband into a penal institution, two counts of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court) and failure to appear for an imposition hearing (16th Judicial District Court).

--Hodges Ferdinand Mathews Jr., 45, Friendship Alley, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:59 p.m. Thursday on a charge of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, driving under suspension, improper turning or signal required, and failure to appear for trial (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Joseph Anthony Acosta, 32, Sacred Heart Drive, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:33 p.m. Thursday on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

--Michael Anthony Francois Jr., 33, First Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:25 p.m. Thursday on a charge of battery of a dating partner.

--Edward James Williams, 43, Gen. MacArthur Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:56 p.m. Friday on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxicated), resisting an officer and improper lighting.

--Chad Johnson, 42, Federal Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:56 p.m. Sunday on a charge of failure to appear for trial (16th Judicial District Court).

--James Johnson Jr., 68, Fourth Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 5:10 a.m. Thursday on a charge of remaining where forbidden. (Released on summons.)

--Javon Niles Jones, 22, Garber Street, Morgan City, was arrested 11:45 p.m. Sunday on charges of resisting an officer, improper lighting, improper turning, no insurance, driving under suspension, expired license plate and failure to appear for arraignment.

--Dedrick J. Gant Sr., 39, Live Oak Street, Patterson, was arrested at 6:12 p.m. Thursday on a charge of failure to appear for a contempt hearing (16th Judicial District Court).

--Keisha Howard, 48, 11th Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7 p.m. Thursday on charges of simple battery and theft. (Released on summons).

--Jordan Avery Steele, 44, Third Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:20 p.m. Friday on charges of failure to appear for imposition and failure to appear for executory sentence (16th Judicial District Court).

St. Mary

Sheriff Gary Driskell reported these arrests:

--Demetrius James Green, 33, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:18 p.m. Saturday on charges of aggravated battery of a dating partner, simple criminal damage to property, interfering with emergency communication, and resisting arrest or officer.

Bail has not been set at this time.

--Judy Elizabeth Moore Alexander, 60, Centerville, was arrested at 8:30 p.m. Friday on a warrant alleging obscenity. Alexander was released on a $15,000 bond.

--Johnny Joseph Bonin, 63, Franklin, was arrested at 11:44 p.m. Friday on a charge of reckless operation (no accident). Bonin was released on a $500 bond.

--Angel Giovanni Morales-Amaro, 20, New Iberia, was arrested at 11:17 p.m. Saturday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Lance Christopher Terry, 40, Patterson, was arrested at 6:11 p.m. Sunday on charges of disturbing the peace (language) and criminal trespass of a movable. Bail was set at $1,250.

--Roscoe Lamar Sasnett, 32, Epps, was arrested at 2:33 p.m. Thursday on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxicated) and emanation of excessive sound or noise. Bail was set at $1,500.

--Wayne Curtis Demarco Jr., 35, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:05 p.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of criminal neglect of family. Bail was set at $500.

Assumption

Sheriff Leland Falcon reported this arrest:

--Ty Quang Thai, 53, Vivian Street, Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested Friday on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxication) and obscenity.

The charges resulted from an incident Friday in Bayou L’Ourse.

Deputies were dispatched to the area of La. 98 and La. 662 in reference to an individual who appeared to be intoxicated and had exposed himself in an obscene manner.

Deputies made contact with the complainant at a local retail establishment, who indicated that the subject was asked to leave the premises and did so. The subject left and, at some point, exposed himself.

The investigating deputy located the suspect, now identified Thai. The deputy noted that Thai appeared to be intoxicated and became belligerent and argumentative with the deputy.

Thai was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center and remains incarcerated with bond set at $50,000.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported these arrests:

--Irving Lumpkin, 41, Maple Street, Franklin, was arrested, at 5:48 a.m. Monday on a charge of battery of a dating partner. Lumpkin was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.

--Kamryn Kinchen, 17, Canal Drive, Franklin, was arrested at 2:55 a.m. Saturday on a charge of illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile. Kinchen was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.

--Jeremias Mijangos, 42, Alli Drive, Maurice, was arrested at 10:13 a.m. Thursday on charges of stop sign and no driver's license. Mijangos was booked, processed and released on a $378.50 bond.

--Tyephia Thomas, 26, Eucharist Road, Lafayette, LA, was arrest at 6 a.m. June 12 on a charge of resisting an officer with force. Thomas was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--Joaquin Moya-Toledo, 29, Barbara Jordan Boulevard, Austin, Texas0, was arrested at 6:23 a.m. on charges of careless operation, driver must be licensed and speeding. Moya-Toledo was booked, processed and released on a $1,051.00 bond.

--Yolanda Baker, 49, 12th Street, Franklin, was arrested at 2:35 a.m. Monday on a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court alleging failure to appear on a charge of criminal neglect of family.

Baker was additionally arrested on the charges of battery of a police officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Baker was booked, processed, and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
