Deputies arrest four on drug-related charges

St. Mary deputies made three arrests on drug-related charges Monday and Tuesday, and another for failure to appear in court to answer drug charges.
St. Mary
Sheriff Blaise Smith advised that over a 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 36 complaints and made these arrests:
—Willie Joseph Johnlouis Jr., 34, Jeanerette, was arrested at 11:04 a.m. Monday on two warrants alleging failure to appear on charges of operating a vehicle while license is suspended, revoked or canceled (two counts); modification of exhaust system; possession, distribution or sale of a legend drug; and improper lane usage.
Johnlouis was released on bond.
—Brian Keith Fontenot, 43, Franklin, was arrested at 6:59 p.m. Monday on charges of turning movements and required signals, improper lane usage and possession of marijuana. Fontenot was released on a summons to appear Dec. 1.
—Donald Ray Webber, 34, Baldwin, was arrested at 10:37 p.m. Monday on charges of reckless operation (no accident), possession of marijuana and driving under suspension.
Webber was released on a summons to appear Dec. 1.
—Scott David Lyons, 55, Chauvin, was arrested on, at 12:39 a.m. Tuesday on charges obedience to police officers, weights and standards; possession of marijuana; possession of THC wax; possession of methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia; and second or subsequent offenses
Morgan City
Police Chief James F. Blair reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 59 calls for service within a 24-hour reporting period and made this arrest:
—Ronald Keith Williams Jr., 42, South Marigny Circle, Duson, was arrested at 4:32 a.m. Monday on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxicated), resisting an officer, battery on a police officer and obstruction of justice.
Assumption
Sheriff Leland Falcon reported these arrests:
—Kenny Paul Clements, 29, Plaisance Street, Lockport, was arrested Saturday on charges of simple criminal damage to property, simple battery and domestic abuse battery.
The arrested resulted from an incident early Saturday in Pierre Part.
Deputies were dispatched to a St. Jude Street address in Pierre Part and made contact with the complainant, who advised deputies that her boyfriend had been drinking and became physical with her, which included striking and choking her.
At the conclusion of the investigation, deputies believed that the suspect, Clements, had indeed committed a battery upon the victim.
Clements was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center and released on a $5,000 bond.
—Douglas Ferris, 35, Eagle Point, Pierre Part, was arrested Thursday on charges of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, simple burglary and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and on Assumption Parish warrants alleging failure to appear on two theft charges.
The latest charges are related to a burglary that occurred on or about April 27 in Belle River.
On that date, deputies and detectives responded to the incident and located a boat believed to have been occupied by Ferris a short time earlier. Deputies seized a firearm from the boat.
That firearm had been reported stolen in St. Martin Parish. Ferris is a convicted felon.
Deputies were also able to link Ferris to a pair of burglaries in the Belle River area.
Detectives applied for and were granted arrest warrants on April 27. Ferris was arrested in Bogalusa on Thursday and transported and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending a bond hearing.

St. Martin
Sheriff Becket Breaux reported this arrest:
—Anissa Champagne, 27, Section 28 Road, St. Martinville, was arrested on charges of possession of Schedule II drugs and distribution of drug paraphernalia.
