LOUIS J. WILSON SR.

February 9, 1938 — April 1, 2021
Louis J. Wilson Sr., 83, a resident of Stephensville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Louis was born on February 9, 1938 in Morgan City, the son of George K. Wilson and Hazel Breaux Wilson.
Louis was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy High School in Morgan City and upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served his country proudly in the 82nd Airborne Division. After his time in the service, Louis enjoyed a very long career with the United States Postal Service holding several positions over an almost 40-year career.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Patricia Mire Wilson of Stephensville; three children, Louis J. Wilson Jr. and wife Renee of Dupont, Louisiana, Heidi Governale and husband James of Morgan City, and Anthony Wilson and wife Katie of Biloxi, Mississippi; seven grandchildren, Heather, Michael and his wife Chantal, Louis and wife Megan, Jill, Jacob, Harlie, and Alicia and husband West; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, George and Hazel Breaux Wilson; his guardians, Louis and Gula Soumeillan; one grandson, Nicholas K. Williams; and one brother, George K. Wilson.
The family would like to thank the following individuals who loved and cared for Louis during his long illness, Charlene Blanco, Lawrence Toups, Madeline Guarisco with Bayou Home Care, Dr. Russell Henry, Dr. Robert Alexander as well as Eva, Carol, Lisa and Shelly, all with Haydel Memorial Hospice.
Private family services will be held in the Morgan City Cemetery.
