ROBERT 'BOB' LEE JETT SR.

September 6, 1932 - April 9, 2018
Robert “Bob” Lee Jett Sr., 85, of Rogers, Arkansas and longtime resident of Louisiana, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018.
He was born September 6, 1932 in Morgan City to the late James Francis Jett Sr. and Winnie Mae Randall Jett. He is also preceded by his loving wife of 63 years, Joan Yvonne Jett; a son, Robert Jett Jr.; a daughter, Dana Lynn Jett; a brother, Pat Jett; and a great-grandson, Teddy Hensley.
Bob was a veteran of the Korean War. While serving in the Navy he enjoyed playing baseball for his ship, the USS Yorktown. Bob retired from the oil fields after more than 50 years of service. He was head of the Oklahoma Oilmen’s Association where he organized fish fries for local charities. Bob enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family, especially attending his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events.
Survivors include a daughter, Roxie Hensley of Arkansas; a son, Ryan Jett Sr. (Amanda) of Florida; five brothers, Jimmy Jett (Sylvia) and Donald Jett (Cathy) of Morgan City, Ronald Jett (Frances) of Thibodaux, Tony Jett (Ann) of Georgia, and Fritzi Jett (Patsy) of Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Jett of Oklahoma; a son-in-law, Ron Hensley Sr. of Alabama; five grandchildren, Ron Hensley Jr. (Kelley) and Randy Hensley (Shannon) of Arkansas, Ashley Jett of Missouri, and Ryan Jett Jr. and Dalton Jett, both of Oklahoma; his great-grandchildren, Sara, Ellasyn, Carter, Grayden, Blake, Elijah and Tyler; and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A service and interment will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018 in Morgan City Cemetery.
