Trailing 4-1, the Berwick Panthers erupted for 13 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning for a 14-1 run-rule win against Central Lafourche in high school baseball action in Berwick Wednesday.
Central Catholic’s annual baseball and softball tournaments will be held this weekend.
The Morgan City High School Lady Tigers improved to 9-1 this season with a 6-3 victory against Thibodaux on the road Wednesday. Morgan City will return to action Thursday when it hosts Ellender in District 7-4A action. Morgan City High School defeated Thibodaux High, 6-3, on the road Wednesday.
Hits were even at eight apiece, and Morgan City committed three errors to Thibodaux’s single miscue.
