Parker makes All-Region team

CHARDONNAE PARKER (Franklin, La.) was the lone member of the women’s team to make the ballot, earning a slot on the first team All-Region team.

FRANKLIN’S ROY JACKSON earned a second place finish (43-07) in the annual Foster/Perry Relays held Friday at J. C. Dry Stadium. Jackson won the discus with a throw of 140-03. The Franklin Hornets won the boys division of the 2017 Foster/Perry with 130 points while the Westgate Lady Tigers won the girls division with 111 points.

Lamar Joseph hurled the Franklin Hornets to a 16-6 win over the West St. Mary Wolfpack Thursday at the Franklin High School Baseball Field.
The Central Catholic Lady Eagles won their District 7-1A opener against Highland Baptist Monday on the road. Central Catholic will continue district play at home Tuesday against Ascension Episcopal.
