FRANKLIN’S ROY JACKSON earned a second place finish (43-07) in the annual Foster/Perry Relays held Friday at J. C. Dry Stadium. Jackson won the discus with a throw of 140-03. The Franklin Hornets won the boys division of the 2017 Foster/Perry with 130 points while the Westgate Lady Tigers won the girls division with 111 points.
Lamar Joseph hurled the Franklin Hornets to a 16-6 win over the West St. Mary Wolfpack Thursday at the Franklin High School Baseball Field.
The Central Catholic Lady Eagles won their District 7-1A opener against Highland Baptist Monday on the road. Central Catholic will continue district play at home Tuesday against Ascension Episcopal. The Lady Eagles never trailed.
Central Catholic High School edged North Vermilion, 1-0, in action at Nicholls State University Monday.
Berwick High School finished the weekend 3-0 at its tournament with wins against Covenant Christian, Catholic High-New Iberia and Morgan City.
